After the Camping Trip

I am back from the camping trip with the class, Outdoor Pursuits, and now that I have gone and experienced it, I really did have a good time. It was definately not an easy trip to hike, but I always love a bit of a challenge and I'm glad I was able to have the opportunity. I especially had fun because of the people that I went with; I couldn't have asked for a better group, and I really got to know some of the people in my class that I didn't know much about before the trip. We also didn't have any major issues like someone getting hurt or anything like that, so that was good. I know that I am not the person to want to go out on a hiking trip all of the time, but I do go camping a lot and this was kind of a different type of camping that was a new and fun experience for me. I had a great time!

Coaching Minor

When I put myself in the coaching minor, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but now that I have taken classes, I have realized that I love coaching. I decided to start coaching at the high school I graduated from and I was a good experience for me. After I coached girls volleyball, I decided to help out with boys volleyball as well and although it is completely different than girls, I like it too. I have realized from these experiences that I need for the minor are making me into a good coach already and I also now know that this is exactly what I want to do while also teaching. I am very excited to graduate and go out and start teaching so that I can also start coaching too.

Camping For a Class

I am in the class Outdoor Pursuits and we are leaving at noon tomorrow for the camping trip that we have to go on for the class. Don't get me wrong, I am very excited about this trip and I absolutely love to go camping, but prepairing for a trip like this is stressful! I have gone camping more times than I can remember and I have loved every minute of it, but I never thought about what clothes I had to take, I always just wore my oldest clothes in my closet. I didn't know that cotton soaked up water really fast and we can't wear it on the trip, and it is really hard to find clothes that don't have cotton in them. I kind of gave up yesterday and went to walmart and got clothes for the trip, which stinks because I don't have the money to spend on clothes I may just end up ruining. Oh well, I know I will have a good time and hopefully nothing major happens...like rain

Class Scheduling

I schedule classes on Monday and I would just like to say that I think scheduling is the most stressful part of college. I sat down with my advisor and we figured all of the classes I need to take in order for me to graduate in four years, which I need to do. All of the classes but 1 that I need to take are full for the fall, which is very stressful. I also needed gymnastics in pre-session and it is also full and they won't let anyone in that isn't student teaching next year sometime. When I was a freshman and sophomore, it was easier to schedule because my classes could be moved around and I have a lot of options. I am becoming limited with the classes I need to take and I am not going to stay at school an extra semester just because we don't have enough professors or classes open for me to get into. I also have to take into account that I coach in the fall and I can't have any night classes or later classes in the day because I have to have time to drive home to be at practices and games. Very frustrating...
